HC Deb 08 July 1918 vol 108 cc58-9W
Brigadier-General CROFT

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether his attention had been called to the fact that the property of Mr. Arthur East, of Little Cornard, Sudbury, Suffolk, is being transferred for sale, and that unless action is taken before 15th July the property will be in full possession of a German firm; whether he is aware that the property is being used for the supply of driving belts for Government and that the price paid for it by a Gorman firm through a third party is five times the value placed on the property by the local auctioneer; and what action he proposes to take?

Sir A. STANLEY

I have no information in regard to the transaction referred to, but I am having inquiry made and will acquaint the hon. and gallant Member with the result.
