§ Mr. ROWLANDSasked the President of the Local Government Board whether he is aware that a number of ejectment orders are being obtained against tenants who come within the scope of the Increase of Rent and Mortgage Interest (War Restrictions) Act, 1915, and then the purchaser claiming possession to occupy; and will the Government take action to prevent this evasion of the Act of 1915?
§ Mr. HAYES FISHERI am aware that cases of the kind referred to have occurred, though I cannot say in how many cases the proceedings can be said to have constituted an evasion of the Act of 1915. I am not in a position to promise legislation on the subject.
