HC Deb 14 February 1918 vol 103 c292W
Major DAVIES

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether his attention has been drawn to the fact that soldiers arriving home on leave at Llandudno either late on Saturday night or early on Sunday morning are stranded at this junction till Monday morning and that they are obliged to walk, in order to reach their homes, in some cases a distance of over thirty miles; and, if so, whether some provision will be made to enable these men to proceed to their homes direct from Llandudno Junction either by train or by vehicle?

Mr. MACPHERSON

Yes, Sir. My attention has recently been drawn to this matter. The same difficulty occurs in other places, and I am afraid that, in view of the demands on the railways, it is not possible to hold out much hope of amelioration. In this instance I understand that the practicability of running a train is being considered.
