HC Deb 18 April 1918 vol 105 c576W
Mr. FIELD

asked the Vice-President of the Department of Agriculture (Ireland) what measures, if any, are being taken to prevent the ravages of the warble fly, in view of the suffering caused to cattle and the depreciation in the value and utility of the hides?

Mr. DUKE

I am informed that experiments with a view to discovering a thoroughly effective method of dealing with the warble fly pest are in progress. Until the results of these investigations are available, the Department of Agriculture are unable to recommend any measures in addition to those set forth in their leaflet on the subject, copy of which I am sending to the hon. Member.
