HC Deb 15 April 1918 vol 105 c47W
Mr. BOWERMAN

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he has received representations from the Deptford Local Food Control Committee regarding the withholding of a supplementary meat ration from women conductors on omnibuses and tramcars, although granted to male workers engaged upon precisely the same work; whether consideration has been given to such representations; and, if so, will he state the result?

Mr. CLYNES

The representation referred to has been received. The question of extending supplementary meat rations to women conductors of omnibuses and tram cars is under consideration along with similar claims on behalf of women doing the work of men, and a decision will be communicated to all Food Control Committees as soon as possible.
