asked the Secretary of State for India whether he has cancelled the passports to this country issued to a Home Rule deputation which was to leave India to put the case for Home Rule before the British public; and, if so, why he has done this?

The answer to-the first part of the question is in the affirmative. After careful consideration the War Cabinet have decided that it would not be right to depart from the general rule that passports should only be issued in cases where the journey is undertaken in the national interest.
