§ Mr. BYRNEasked the Under-Secretary of State for War if he will state the rates of wages paid to female clerks in Army pay offices of London, Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dublin, Belfast, and Cork; and whether female clerks in any part of Ireland are being paid 6s. per week with a bonus of 4s.?
§ Mr. FORSTERThe rates for female clerks of eighteen years of age and over are 24s. to 28s. a week, including 5s. war bonus, in all these pay offices except London, where they are 2s. a week higher. For girls under eighteen lower rates are paid. In the Cork office there are a few girls of fourteen and fifteen who live with their mothers, and are paid 6s. with a bonus of 4s. a week.
