§ Mr. KENNEDYasked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether a deadlock has been caused in the sale of pigs and pork owing to recent restrictions, and especially so in county Cavan; and, if so, if he will consider the advisability of at once having these markets made free of all restrictions and thus allow this Irish industry to pursue its normal course?
§ Mr. CLYNESI have been asked to reply to this question. Difficulties have arisen in the North of Ireland in connection with the enforcement of the controlled price of pork and prosecutions have already been instituted in several cases. The Food Controller's Orders were made for the protection of the consumer and it is not intended to revoke them.
