asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he is aware that it is the custom to ship live pigs to England from Ireland; whether they are killed for manufacture into become soon after arrival; and if he will say whether it will be sold as English or Irish become?


The answer to the first two parts of the hon. Member's question is in the affirmative. The bacon would be sold as English bacon.
