CAVEThe cost of the Criminal Investigation Department is borne by the Metropolitan Police Fund; but under Section 1 of the Police Act, 1909, a Grant of £100,000 a year is paid to that fund out of moneys provided by Parliament in respect of services rendered by the Metropolitan Police for Imperial and national purposes. This is paid out of the Tote for Police, England and Wales.
