§ Mr. CHAMBERLAINThe promotion of majors in the Indian Army to the rank of liuetenant-colonel has not been specialy accelerated because no occasion has been given for such a measure by any general acceleration of promotion of majors of the Britsh Army. Pay of temporary rank is admissible to regimental officers as well as to Staff officers.
