§ Sir G. CAVEThe grant of the increased war bonus is being officially announced to the prisons to-day It will be allowed in the cases of married men absent with the Colours. Prison officers serving in the Army are paid the remainder of their civil salary after deducting military pay and separation allowances; and a refund of certain sums became necessary where an increase had been made in the separation allowance, which had not been brought to the notice of the prison authorities at the time.
