§ Mr. FELL
asked the President of the Board of Trade how much tea was imported into this country from Java during 365W the year 1916; if any tea is now allowed to be imported from that country; and if he is aware that Java tea is largely in the hands of Germans, and that they directly or indirectly benefit by the sale of it in this country?
The quantity of tea imported from Java in 1916 was 30,403,840 pounds. No licences are now being issued for Java tea. I have no knowledge of the facts suggested in the last part of the question, but I should be glad to receive any information the hon. Gentleman may have on the subject.
