§ Mr. H. LAWasked the President of the Board of Trade if he will consider the propriety of recommending the grant of a war bonus to light-keepers under the Irish Lights Board who have been invalided out of the service through no fault of their own on pensions of £20 a year and under?
Mr. ROBERTSLight-keepers in the service of the general lighthouse authorities are entitled to pensions similar to those granted to persons in the public Civil Service under the Superannuation Acts, and any increase in such pensions would necessitate an amendment of those Acts which would be of general application. My right hon. Friend regrets that in the circumstances he does not see his way to meet the wishes of my hon. Friend.
