HC Deb 24 April 1917 vol 92 c2241W
Mr. PARTINGTON

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether an Order has been issued by the General Officer Commanding the London District that no soldier is to be served in any restaurant or eating-house with any food after 9.45 p.m.; and whether any such Order has been issued by the Food Controller in respect to civilians?

Mr. MACPHERSON

An Order has been issued by the General Officer Commanding the London District prohibiting the serving of meals in licensed premises to members of the naval and military forces in uniform between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The prohibition does not apply tobond-fide travellers or to persons lodging in the pramises concerned. Perhaps my hon. Friend will address the last part of his question to the Food Controller?
