HC Deb 24 April 1917 vol 92 c2238W
Mr. MILLAR

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food if he can state the quantity of barley, sugar, and other materials required for the production of the 10,000,000 standard barrels of beer to be brewed during the present year?

Captain BATHURST

Assuming that the various materials are used in the same proportion as in the years 1915–1916, the amount required for the production of 10,000,000 standard barrels would be as follows:

Barley 367,220 tons.
Grits 21,420 tons.
Sugar 44,700 tons.
