HC Deb 04 April 1917 vol 92 cc1313-4W

asked the Minister of Munitions whether he has received official information to the effect that numbers of motor cars marked "Ministry of Munitions," and containing women and children, are being used for joy rides, especially on Sundays and in the neighbourhood of London; if so, whether the cars and petrol are so used at the expense of the State; and what action he proposes to take?

The Minister of Munitions has received no official information of such occurrences as those referred to in the question, which would be directly contrary to instructions issued to all concerned regarding the use of Ministry motor cars. If the hon. Member will furnish me with any specific information, I shall be glad to cause inquiry to be made.
