§ Mr. ELLIS DAVIESasked the Home Secretary whether, in view of the fact that Private Saunderson, attached to 700 Company, Motor Transport Supply Column, who was fined £ 3 on 9th August last for exceeding the speed limit in the Ashton Old Road, Manchester, was guilty of the offence when, acting on instructions, he accelerated speed so as to enable a load of shells to catch a special train, he can see his way to remit the penalty?
§ Mr. BRACEMy right hon. Friend has made inquiry into this case, but regrets that he does not find any sufficient ground for advising a remission of the penalty imposed.
