HC Deb 12 October 1916 vol 86 c211W
Mr. FITZPATRICK

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland by whose authority the police at Mountmellick tore down notices posted through that town and district announcing the holding of a collection in support of the National Aid Fund on the 10th September; if he is aware that collections for this purpose have been held in different parts of Ireland without interference by the police; and will he see that such interference with these collections shall not occur in future?

Mr. DUKE

The police removed these notices in question under a misapprehension, and have been directed not to interfere with like notices in future.
