§ Mr. GINNELLasked the Secretary of State for India if he is now in a position to state the total number of troops who lost their lives in consequence of defective transit arrangements in India last July; whether the three officers then held to be responsible have been tried; and, if so, by what Court, with what result, and where they are now?
§ Mr. CHAMBERLAINI regret that nineteen soldiers lost their lives on the occasion mentioned. As regards the action taken I would refer the hon. Member to my statement in the House on 1st August and to my reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Devonport on the 2nd November.
