HC Deb 21 November 1916 vol 87 c1226W
Mr. NUGENT

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland if the Property Losses (Ireland) Committee have rejected the claim of Mrs. Elizabeth Coughlan, No. 4,265, for £5 4s. 6d., money taken from her room in the house, 10, North King Street, while in the occupation of the military during the disturbances of Easter week last; whether this woman was detained by the military for three days, during which time her money disappeared; and, as Mrs. Coughlan is a most respectable woman, whose son in the Navy was wounded during the Jutland battle, whether he will take steps to see that she will be compensated for the money which she lost?

Mr. DUKE

The Property Losses Committee considered this claim, and decided that they were unable within their terms of reference to make any recommendation in respect of it.
