HC Deb 02 November 1916 vol 86 c1860W
Mr. HAYDEN

asked the Vice-President of the Department of Agriculture (Ireland) if he will give the names of the bodies amongst whom was distributed the sum of £9,000 given by the agricultural branch of his Department to its technical instruction branch for the year 1914–15 for manual instruction and domestic economy in rural districts, and the amount set aside for each of those bodies, as notified to the Technical Instruction Board; and similar information relating to the corresponding subsidy for 1915–16; and the like information regarding the proposed distribution of the corresponding subsidy for 1916–17?

Mr. RUSSELL

In regard to the first portion of the question, I may refer the hon. Member to the reply given to him on 3rd August on this subject. The Grants voted by the Agricultural Board for the purposes referred to for the years 1915–16 and 1916–17 have been reduced to £7,000. In the former year the Grant was participated in by twenty-seven county committees and by two joint committees for urban and rural districts. The Grant for 1916–17 will be shared by thirty-three county committees and by two joint committees for urban and rural districts.
