HC Deb 02 November 1916 vol 86 c1854W

asked the Secretary of State for War whether, under the new Regulations about to be enforced with regard to the sending of food packets to British prisoners of war in Germany, it will still be possible for the families and friends of prisoners to send packets to individuals through the new centralising authority; and whether full details as to the new arrangements will be displayed in post offices for the information of the general public?

Parcels of certain kinds can be sent by the families and friends of prisoners, provided that they have been examined and packed by the Central Committee or by an organisation authorised by that committee. Before the scheme is brought into operation notices will be put up in post offices, giving lists of the authorised organisations and showing for which regiments, etc., each organisation will receive money or is authorised to send parcels.
