§ Mr. KINGasked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether Alan M'Dougall, No. 6,634, G Company, 4/3rd London Regiment, has been sent to Parkhurst Military Prison as a conscientious objector; if so, when and where was he court-martialled, and with what result; whether it has been decided, or he has been warned, that he will be sent to France; and whether it is proposed to send unwilling and disobedient soldiers to the front?
§ Mr. TENNANTNo soldier would be sent to a military detention barracks for being a conscientious objector, though he might be punished for disobeying orders given. In fact, this is what happened to M'Dougall. I have no information that M'Dougall has been warned for embarkation for France. Non-combatant Corps are not sent into the fighting line.
