§ Mr. TURTONasked the Attorney-General whether he is now in a position to say whether the Government will legislate to obviate the necessity for calling grand jurymen at Quarter Sessions during the period of the War?
§ Sir GEORGE CAVEMy right hon. and learned Friend has ascertained from the Society of Chairmen of Quarter Sessions that the balance of opinion among its members is against the abolition of Grand Juries during the War. Opinion generally appears to be divided upon the point, and legislation is not practicable without a large measure of general assent among those concerned.
