§ Mr. FIELDasked the Secretary of State for War whether he has received statements forwarded by solicitors and others respecting the case of Mr. George Ewing, who was. killed, and Mr. Joseph Hayes, who was wounded, in North King Street on 29th April last; whether he is aware that there is an expressed desire on the part of their relatives and others that a public inquiry be held; and whether he will arrange to have such an inquiry held in connection with those two specific cases?
§ Mr. FORSTERI have seen statements with reference to a Mr. Joseph Hayes and to a Mr. George Ennis. On the subject of an inquiry I can only refer the hon. Member to the answer given by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister in answer to the hon. Member for Westmeath on 11th July, and to the hon. Member for East Mayo on 17th July.
