Mr. CHANCELLORasked the Comptroller of the Household, as representing the National Health Insurance Commissioners, if he will state what was the actual cost per week per member during 1914 of sickness, disablement, and maternity benefits combined, for men and for women, respectively; and the total amount paid by way of State Grants in respect of benefits paid to men and to women?

Friend will be aware that the matters referred to in the first part of the question are at the present moment under the consideration of a Departmental Committee, and pending the receipt of their Report, I am doubtful whether it would be advisable for me to make any statement. The figure asked for in the latter part of the question is approximately £1,903,000.
