§ Mr. BYRNEasked the Chief Secretary whether the Government have reconsidered the claims of the Dublin Metropolitan Police for an increase in wages; if he will state the amount of the increase it is proposed to pay, and when it will be paid; if the increase will compare with the increased cost of living; and if it will carry with it pensionable rights?

§ Mr. DUKEApplications for increased pay have now been received from the Dublin Metropolitan Police and from the Royal Irish Constabulary. They are the subject of careful consideration. As soon as decisions have been arrived at they will be communicated to the applicants.
