HC Deb 21 August 1916 vol 85 cc2301-2W
Mr. MacVEAGH

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he can state the reason for the non-publication of dispatches with regard to the German South-West African campaign which was entered upon over a year ago; and whether he can say when the dispatches will be published?

Mr. FORSTER

The campaign in German South-West Africa was conducted by the Government of the Union of South Africa, with naval and military assistance furnished from Imperial sources. Since no Imperial officers were concerned with the conduct of the operations, no dispatches have been received concerning them by the Secretary of State for War.
