asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether there are barracks in the Channel Islands which afford accommodation for a large number of troops; whether these barracks are at present fully occupied; and, if not, whether he will transfer thither the German officers from Donington Hall and make use of the latter for the accommodation of convalescent British officers and men?1425W
§ Mr. TENNANT
The available barrack accommodation in the Channel Islands may be required at any time for military occupation and is not considered suitable for accommodating prisoners of war. There is no intention of removing German officer prisoners from Donington Hall.
