asked the Under-Secretary whether he is aware that of the War Office contracts made in April, out of 1,523 contracts, thirty-six only were allotted to Irish firms; and whether, in view of the superior facility, economy, and efficiency both to the War Office and contractors, he will consider the expediency of establishing a permanent fully-equipped receiving depôt in Dublin?

The figures given in the question are substantially correct as regards contracts included in the list published in the "Board of Trade Labour Gazette," but in this connection I would550W refer the hon. Member to the reply given to him by my predecessor on the 11th May in answer to a similar question. As regards the second part of the question, the position remains as stated in the answer given to the hon. Member on the 18th March.
