HC Deb 10 February 1915 vol 69 cc597-8W
Mr. GINNELL

asked the Vice-President of the Department of Agriculture (Ireland), if he will state, for purposes of comparison, the estimated cost of living of an average working-class household in Ireland in January, 1914, and in January, 1915, respectively, having regard to the retail prices of staple foodstuffs, clothing, fuel, rent, rates, and the other items of expenditure in which differences appear?

Mr. RUSSELL

The Department do not collect statistics of retail prices of foodstuffs, clothing, rents, rates, etc., and are, therefore, not in a position to give the comparative estimates referred to.
