HC Deb 27 April 1915 vol 71 cc592-3W
Mr. ROWLANDS

asked the Postmaster-General whether the regulations for carrying parcels to troops in France limit the maximum weight to 11 pounds; whether parcels over that weight may be sent free of charge; and, if so, will he make known the method of dispatch in such cases?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

The Post Office has no authority to accept any parcel exceeding 11 pounds in weight. The arrangements for the transmission to the British Expeditionary Force on the Continent of parcels weighing over 11 pounds are in the hands of the War Office.
