HC Deb 26 November 1914 vol 68 cc1334-5W
Mr. KING

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that many persons have made returns of income for taxation purposes who now find that, owing to the War, incomes which they regarded as certain, especially in the nature of salaries, have disappeared; and whether such persons can now withdraw their returns already lodged and put in corrected returns?

Mr. MONTAGU

In the cases mentioned by my hon. Friend it is sufficient that a notice of the diminution of income should be sent in to the local surveyor of taxes.
