Captain FABERasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether his attention has been called to the delays caused by the Registrar of Friendly Societies' staff in revising and returning proofs of rules and amendments, and to the fact that copies are kept back for months, causing expense to friendly societies; and whether anything can be done to amend this inconvenience?
§ Mr. LLOYD GEORGEThe Chief Registrar is unaware of any such delays in dealing with the rules of friendly societies as are suggested in the hon. Member's question or of any undue delay, regard being had to the care required for the inspection of rules and amendments of rules by the Registrars and to the temporary pressure of work due to the numerous amendments necessitated by the National Insurance Act, 1911, and the amending Act of 1913. If the hon. Member will supply me with particulars of any specific case in which undue delay is alleged, I shall be happy to have inquiry made.
