asked the President of the Board of Education how many local education authorities are providing meals for necessitous children, under the Education (Provision of Meals) Act, 1906, from the rates; how many of them are spending up to the maximum of the ½d. rate; and what is the total amount of the Board of Education Grant to this service?

The number of authorities which provided meals for necessitous children out of the rates under Section 3 of the Education (Provision of Meals) Act, 1906, for the year ending 31st March, 1913, the latest period for which the Board have complete returns, was:—
