Mr. PIKE PEASEasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will give permission to the Church Army to have hung up in all Police Courts near their labour homes notices pointing out that they are prepared to give to men sentenced to payment of a fine facilities to earn the amount of their fines in their spare time?
§ Mr. McKENNAMy permission is not necessary for this purpose. It seems to me a matter which can best be arranged between the Church Army and the local Police Court authorities, who would, I am: sure, be willing to co-operate with the Church Army in any practicable proposal of this sort.
