§ Mr. McKENNANo steps are being taken at present for Miss Emerson's expulsion, but, if she should again commit an offence which would bring her within the provisions of the Aliens Act, the question of applying to the Court for a recommendation for her expulsion will be considered. She is an American citizen. During the eight years since the Aliens Act came into force, 143 persons of American nationality convicted of crime have been ordered to be expelled.
