§ Mr. EDWARD WOOD
asked the Post, master-General whether postmasters and their assistants have been instructed to refuse farthings not of the coinage of the present reign in payment for stamps; and, if so, on what authority such instructions have been issued?
§ Captain NORTON
I am not aware of the issue of any such instructions as those referred to in the question. If the hon. Member will favour me with particulars of any case in which such farthings have been refused at a post office I will have inquiry made.
