HC Deb 23 February 1914 vol 58 c1423W
Mr. MACPHERSON

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty how much land is required for naval purposes at Cromarty; what price per acre the owner is asking for it; what has been its rating value per acre; why the inquiry connected with the proposed purchase of this land is held in private; and whether a verbatim report of the evidence and speeches at the inquiry will be laid before Parliament?

Mr. LAMBERT

Approximately eighty-seven acres are required by the Admiralty at Cromarty. It was decided by the Arbiter that the usual practice should be followed, and reporters not admitted. With regard to publication, perhaps my hon. Friend will allow me to answer that question when the proceedings are more nearly terminated.
