§ Mr. SHEEHANasked the Chief Secretary whether he intends to produce a separate Labourers (Ireland) Bill this year to provide sufficient moneys for completing the labourers' settlement and for securing fixity of tenure to labourers in their cottages?
1640W
§ Mr. BIRRELLThe Irish Land Bill makes provision for these additional advances, but does not alter the tenure on which the cottages may be held under district councils. I cannot at present make any statement as to the necessity for a separate Labourers Bill this year.
