Mr. TYSON WILSONasked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that H. Ganderton, employed at the Weedon depôt as a leading hand, has not participated in an increase of wages given to other leading hands as from April last; and whether he will state the reason for this discrimination?
Mr. BAKERI am fully aware of the circumstances of this case. It lays in the discretion of the officer in charge to give or not to give an increase from 1st April, 1911, according to the value of the services rendered. Ganderton was not the only man so treated, and I am not prepared to interfere with the exercise of the officer's discretion.
