§ Mr. ELLIS GRIFFITHThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. A written application was sent to the Commissioner of Police by Mr. Syme on 29th May, but its terms were such that no reply could be sent. Permits to hold meetings are not required. The Regulations merely direct four days' notice of a meeting to be given to the Commissioner of Police and certain other requirements to be complied with.
