Mr. LEICESTER HARMSWORTHasked the Secretary for Scotland whether his attention has been drawn to the fact that in a recent case of applications for the enlargement of holdings the applicants were informed by the Board of Agriculture that, the land so applied for being situated upon another estate to that on which they were at the time tenants, the application was inadmissible under the terms of the Small Landholders (Scotland) Act; and whether he can see his way to introduce legislation to remedy this defect in the Act?
Mr. McKINNON WOODI would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given to the hon. Member for Sutherlandshire on the 1459W 22nd April. The Board of Agriculture for Scotland will take an early opportunity of bringing a case to test the point before the Land Court.
