§ Mr. WATTasked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that dissatisfaction exists in Glasgow at the refusal of the Post Office authorities there to forward during the three or four days' holidays letters addressed to business addresses to the holiday addresses without payment of a fee; whether it is the universal practice of his Department in Scotland to forward letters if it is known that the addressee proposes to return to the first address; and, if so, will he explain why the rule has thus recently been broken?

§ Mr. HERBERT SAMUELI am not aware of any such dissatisfaction. It is not the universal nor the usual practice of my Department to forward letters in the circumstances which the hon. Member describes, and in this connection I would refer him to the answers on this subject given to the hon. Member for the Blackfriars Division of Glasgow on the 28th April and 5th May last.
