§ Mr. O'GRADYasked the First Lord of the Admiralty if it is intended to allow a percentage of the men in the Navy (those permitted to marry) to be borne upon the strength of the service, so that they will be placed on an equality with the men in the Army similarly situated; and whether rations and lodging allowance will be given at so much per head for wife and children?
§ Mr. CHURCHILLIt is not proposed to introduce a married establishment with separation allowances for the Navy similar to those in the Army. The conditions of service in the Army and Navy are dissimilar, and a comparison of the benefits received for services rendered cannot properly be made in respect of one item only.
