§ Mr. ADAMSONasked the Secretary for Scotland whether he is aware that the forty-three cases of small-pox which have recently occurred in Kirkcaldy, did not include one child out of the many hundreds in the parish who have been legally exempted from vaccination under the provisions of the Vaccination (Scotland) Act, 1907; and whether, in view of this circumstance, he will consider whether the time has now arrived for the repeal of the penal clauses of all existing Vaccination Acts?
Mr. McKINNON WOODI am aware of the facts stated in the first part of the question. As regards the second part of the question I would remind my hon. Friend that the Vaccination (Scotland) Act, 1907, provides for exemption from the penal clauses by statutory declaration of conscientious objection.
