Mr. TYSON WILSONasked the Postmaster-General whether joiners, painters, and labourers employed in the telephone department of large provincial post offices come under Part II. of the National Insurance Act; and, if they do, whether he will instruct those who have control of these departments to stamp the unemployment cards of such workmen?
§ Mr. HERBERT SAMUELJoiners, painters, and labourers in the service of the Post Office employed on work connected with the trades specified in the Sixth Schedule to the National Insurance Act conic under Part. II. of that Act. Instructions were issued for the unemployment cards of such workmen to be stamped in accordance with the provisions of the Act. If the hon. Member is aware of any case where this has not been done, I shall be happy to make inquiry.
