Mr. TYSON WILSONasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he has received a request from an association of workmen to open a Labour Exchange at Brixton; and, if so, whether, in view of the working class population residing in that district and the inconvenience that many of them are put to in having to go long distances to register, he will comply with the request?
Mr. BUXTONA request was received on the 24th January last from the Brixton branch of the Amalgamated Society of Carpenters and Joiners for the establishment of a Labour Exchange at Brixton. This question had already been carefully considered by the Board of Trade, but has been deferred until further experience has been gained of the administration of employment insurance.
