§ Mr. HERBERT SAMUELThe probable expenditure on trunk lines in each year is estimated annually in advance. No estimate of the amount likely to be expended in any month is made; and the accounts of expenditure during a particular month are not completed till a much later date. I regret that it is not practicable at present to say what the actual expenditure between November, 1912, and March, 1913, was, but I will communicate with the hon. Member when the figures are available.
